Universal Health Care
Posted by Keith Brady in Health, Politics on July 1, 2009
I am fed up with health insurance. Paying their fees only so they can tell me what I need doesn’t qualify for them ponying up the dough. My insurance rates are going up again. They wanted a 50% increase, they were negotiated down to 13%. With the increase we now have higher deductibles and co-pays. Again I am paying more and getting less. I think that is about everybody’s problem with health insurance. Read the rest of this entry »
But I’m on a fixed income!
Posted by Keith Brady in Other on April 10, 2009
It must be a generational thing but I don’t understand the term, “fixed income.” According to inverstorwords.com the definition of fixed income is, “a security that pays a specific interest rate, such as a bond, money market instrument, or preferred stock.” Read the rest of this entry »
To Give Thanks!
Posted by Keith Brady in Other on January 20, 2009
This isn’t going to really be about giving thanks in the traditional
way. It’s more about my frustrations with people expecting thanks and
the industry that has set us up to expect it.
I don’t agree with sending out mass “thank you” cards to people who
give gifts at bridal showers, wedding receptions, baby showers, even
birthdays or anything of the like. If you give a gift and expect a thank you, you shouldn’t be
giving the gift. You’re missing the whole point of the giving. Read the rest of this entry »
Race, Inauguration and History
Posted by Keith Brady in Politics on January 20, 2009
Maybe it’s because I am a white man, living in the mid-west, but I
don’t understand the media placed importance on a, technically, half-
black man being voted into the office of the US Presidency. “It’s
history!,” that’s been proclaimed that a “black man” has been voted
into office. Read the rest of this entry »
All Natural, My Butt!
Posted by Keith Brady in Health on September 5, 2008
I have to get this off my chest. I have told some people my opinion on this (mostly family, some friends) but it doesn’t make sense to me. Recently 7up has touted that it has gone all natural. True it has removed most of the “unnatural ingrdients,” but there is one that it forgot because the FDA says it’s “natural.” The ingredient that I am taking about is high fructose corn syrup or HFCS. I have heard for a while that HFCS was unheathy and that it is the main cause of diabetes, obesity and the obesity epidemic. So I look into it a little more, I become a little more health conscious and I didn’t like what I found on the subject.
Nix All Parties
Posted by Keith Brady in Politics on September 5, 2008
I was going to title this entry “Nix Both Parties” but I quickly realized there are more than two. The two most popular political parties are very prominent in the media, they are obviously the Repulicans and Democrats (the elephants and the asses)
. The other parties that are lesser known are the Constitution Party, the Green Party, Libertarian Party, and the Independent Party. What they all represent, I don’t know. It really doesn’t matter to me what the party represents it’s what the politician represents.
I am a registered Independent because I don’t have full faith in any party, I don’t think most people really do. I think all parties should be done away with. If it wasn’t for party alliance, affiliation or faithfulness I think the 2004 elections could have gone in a different direction.
Political Analysts
Posted by Keith Brady in Politics on September 5, 2008
To start, I am an Independent in the political scheme of things. Mainly due to the fact that two main parties have become so disassociated from the people they are supposed to serve that they no longer serve our interests. Lincoln said “that government of the people. . .by the people. . .for the people. . . shall not perish from the earth.” Our government has become by big corporations, for big corporations because of lobbyists. But I digress, as the title states this is meant to be about political analysts.
Let’s All Give Thanks!

I was over at an Aunt and Uncles home for Thanksgiving dinner, which was delicious, and one of their older children brought home a message that my Uncle read to us as we were getting our plates full of food. It was a message from George Washington regarding Thanksgiving Day. He pronounced it as a holiday and why we should give thanks.

Non High Fructose Corn Syrup Products
Posted by Keith Brady in Health on October 29, 2006
I would like to give “props” to products that do not contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Here is a list that will be updated periodically as I find more products that do not contain HFCS.
